Volunteer Opportunities

The Richmond Gem and Mineral Society was founded in 1956 by a dedicated group of individuals who, like you, shared a common passion. The majority of our current board members, who hold positions responsible for running the club, have been doing so for quite some time. Therefore, we are always on the lookout for members interested in taking part in new leadership opportunities and contributing to the future of our club.

Why Serve?

Serving on the Board or assisting existing Board members of the Richmond Gem and Mineral Society presents a unique opportunity to take a central role in preserving our club. It's a chance to actively shape our society, foster growth, and enrich our shared interests. Your contributions will leave a lasting legacy, enabling us to continue providing a home for members young and old.

How to Volunteer

First, to get an idea of what goes on behind the scenes of running the club, we welcome you to attend one of our monthly Board meetings. The Board meets at 6:30 on the same day and at the same location as our monthly membership meeting. This provides an excellent opportunity for you to become acquainted with the responsibilities of each Board member and gain a better understanding of where you'd like to contribute.

If you already have an idea of where you'd like to contribute, we encourage you to reach out to one of our board members directly at a club meeting or via email. You can find their contact information in the 'About/Officers' section on our website. Simply click on the position in blue, and the email address for the current person holding that position will appear.

Any commitment you can volunteer for will play a crucial role in guiding our society on its ongoing journey of exploration, discovery, and the sharing of knowledge. If you have any questions or need additional information, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
